Virginia Odysseys

Hampton Roads

The first permanent English settlement in America began at Jamestown (1607), the deciding battle of the Revolutionary War was fought at Yorktown (1781), and the story of Colonial America is told daily in Colonial Williamsburg. There is no better place to bike through American history than Hampton Roads. World-class museums and attractions are never far from your path. You can take a ferry to the "Southside" of the James River and continue on to the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy biking and ice cream along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.
